My life is so weird right now.
I mean;
1. I negotiated a promotion campaign for Kingen´s album that´s now running in the USA.
2. I´m right now negotiating with George Hofmann at http://www.shooter.de/ who´s interested in launching and promoting our record in Germany and doing a promotion Tour. (Shooter is a major PR-company that usually works with artists like Peter Gabriel, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, The Hooters and hundreds of other big names).
3. I closed a deal with Crucial Music in Los Angeles, on one of the songs from the album, to be pitched for use in Feature films, Commercials and TV-series.
Guess what? None of the above generates any money back until next year!
Not many people know how long a large record project really is. We started to work on Kingen´s album in autumn 2005 and we will not se any real money before 2009.
This long timespan comes from our ambition and determination of wanting to break it on foreign markets, almost skipping Sweden in the process. Better 100 000 copies sold abroad, than 1000 in Sweden. It´s also cheaper (!) and easier working on foreign markets. That says a lot regarding the conditions of the Swedish market. LOL
Germany and USA are two huge markets, and getting the album going there, would secure us financially for 4-5 years, even with just a minor, microscopic success.
The thought of that potential is our motivation.
Of course, it can turn out that nothing at all happens as well.
Then all our sacrifices and efforts will lead to…well nothing more then us getting more skilled and experienced in record making and marketing. That has a value in itself too!
So, basicly, right now we are a flying brick. We can´t really afford sustaining promotion of this magnitude forever.
But we must, and we will.
It´s incredibly motivating to se one after the other signing up for supporting our product, through marketing, goodwill etc. But the basic financing is a problem. Kingen has to tour his ass of on minor gigs this period just to make a living, and i have to run like a madman on whatever project shows up for the same reasons.
At least i can say we work hard and are really good at what we´re doing. And it´s fun.
I can easily say that we have more guts and iron balls doing this, then any of the average bullshitters out there. LOL
Weeell.. fukit. Now i need some sleep.
big love

Håller tummarna. Keeping my fingers crossed as we say in swede….
